Just a little about our family...
Jake and I got married in 2004 after about 9 months of dating. When you know you know, right.
We were born and raised in Colorado but moved to south Texas right after we were married.
We've moved a couple times and ended up in the good ol panhandle of Texas.
We struggled a little to get pregnant with Kohen, took about 18 months, God had a plan and I believe wanted us where we had good medical care etc. He was born in October 2007. When Kohen was about 18 months old we decided it was time to try for another. Kaiya took much much longer to conceive. About 1200 days, of not getting positive results. All in Gods timing though.
Kaiya is born July 2012, and we have no idea or indication that anything could be possibly wrong.
Early on Kaiya seems to be a healthy happy baby, as weeks go on she became more and more fussy. I removed so much from my diet thinking she wasn't tolerating things in my milk. At her 6 week check up he Pediatrician measures her head and see that it hasn't grown since birth. She had a cat scan on October 17, it came back as normal. She then had an MRI on October 26th which also came back as normal. I remember being so happy that nothing terrible was wrong with our baby girl.
A week later very noticeable seizures started. Her first EEG was on November 8th. November 9th we went to Cook Childrens for tests and received the diagnosis of Infantile Spasms.
Where our journey begins with a child with special needs...
